I had heard the figurines break off from their bases so I super glued them before even playing. We love to put them throughout our great room so our almost three year old has to move around to play the game. We have even taken it outside in the grass on a sunny day. The only thing I don't like is that there is no storage box for them so I purchased a storage container for the pieces.
Every time we passed this jet pack in the store, my die hard Toy Story fan would start pleading for it. As embarrassing as this was (no one--not even a mom--appreciates a gimmie kid), I couldn't helped put be charmed by the idea of this toy. After dozens and dozens of "not today" and "maybe for your birthday", and my daughter's own attempts at using household items to double for a jet pack, I caved when I saw it on Amazon, and that it would ship for free.
The straps are a little flimsy, and the wings are not movable components, but the toy has provided hours and hours of entertainment for her and my one year old who watches. You'll really want to ask yourself if you aren't going to mind your kid running around the house shouting and making electronic noises for hours at a time, but if you can hold out, the extended nap is a pretty decent pay out. With Toy Story 3 coming out, this toy will only increase in popularity and will make for an unbeatable gift for the toddler set.
I wasn't 100% sure that I would be pleased with this, based on a couple of negative reviews, but I am very pleased and more importantly, my 3 year olds are really enjoying it. I would not necessarily consider this a good 'travel' toy, which is what one of the negative reviews was about, but I think looking at the picture of the contents, one would assume that with all the small puzzle pieces, it probably isn't the best car toy! The foam pieces are sturdy, and the cardboard lacing cards are thicker and sturdier than I expected. Also, beads and cards have nice large holes that are easier to manipulate than other stringing beads I've had. My children and I are very pleased!
As you can see from my other reviews building toys are a big hit in our home. My boys love legos but they are just not into them 24-7 like other lego lovers. So we have a variety of different types. Zoobs are one of the well-played with sets in our home. I use building sets to occupy hands and minds while eyes are glued to the television. I really dislike idle staring at the television. So, my solution is not to take television away, but to encourage play while the boys shows are on. Over the years, my boys have become bored "just watching" television and are rarely ever found just watching. Anytime the television is on in ourhome, the boys are sitting playing too. Zoobs are usually on the floor and arew typically a first choice.
Bright colorful plastic "ball and socket" type joints enable a child to create pose-able and articulated figures. I have also used these for pattern making and recognition, as well as math manipulatives in helping the boys with their homework.
75 are not nearly enough though. You need a couple of sets. Ebay is a great source for scoring add ons to this set for less.
We even bring zoobs to reataurants with us to occupy the boys while we are waiting for our food to come. A ziploc bag works great for transporting enough to keep the family occupied.
Another fine building toy that encourages imaginative play!

I purchased these toys so my kids could play while bathing. as soon as I dropped them into the water my kids loved them. The toys squirt fine and are durable.
